2-Cycle engine are frequently used on String Trimmers (Weedeaters), Chain Saws, Blowers, Edgers, Hedgers, some Mini Tillers, Lawn Mowers. 2-Cycle engines use a Mixture of Gasoline and a specially formulated 2-Cycle Oil. The ratio of fuel mix will vary by manufacturer. The very old chain saws used a 16:1 ratio . Today, many of the products use a 32:1; 40:1; or 50:1 ratio Therefore, it is advisable to read the manufacturers recommendations.	The oil lubricates the engine, allowing for reduced friction of the engine parts. The oil adheres to the surfaces of all moving parts. 2-Cycle engines are more durable when titling or for mowing on a hillside. The oil is premixed with the fuel; thus, no attention to the oil level is required and no oil changes are need. *However, too much oil* can lead to unnecessary carbon deposits which can break free and damage the cylinder or piston. *Too little oil causes* increased fiction (from internal parts rubbing together) and causes scoring to the cylinder or piston.
